TMC Wants Experienced Truck Drivers

Driver Pay
At TMC we believe people should be paid based on how well they perform, rather than just how long they have been with the company. That does not mean we do not value longevity. We do and we reward that as well. Our performance percentage pay option was designed by TMC drivers. They wanted their paychecks to primarily reflect the quantity and quality of the work they did. That being said, we also recognized that some drivers are just more comfortable with the more standard mileage pay system; at least until they have a chance to compare the benefits of each pay option. Drivers have the opportunity to switch pay plans twice a year.
Option 1 (Percentage Pay)
This option pays you a percentage of what the company is paid by the shipper to haul their load. Percentage rates start at 23% for student drivers and 27% for experienced drivers. This is the rate you will receive through the first full calendar month that you are with TMC. Your percentage rate for each month after that will be based on your performance. Percentage rates go as high as 32%. Drivers with 1, 2 and 3 or more years of experience with TMC are guaranteed base percentage rates of at least 24%, 25% & 26% respectively.
This is our most popular pay option, favored by over 80% of our current fleet. New drivers love it because it gives them the opportunity to move rapidly up the pay scale unencumbered by a lack of seniority with the company. Experienced drivers love it because they get a share of the gain every time TMC gets a rate increase.
Option 2 (Mileage Pay)
For drivers who prefer to be paid based on the number of miles they run TMC offers the following:

All drivers receiving mileage pay are also eligible to earn an additional 1.5 cents per mile in performance and incentive bonuses.
The above mileage rates are paid on all dispatched miles, loaded and empty.

Health Care
TMC strives to offer the best, most affordable health, dental, vision care and prescription coverage for you and your family. We currently offer Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage to meet your health care needs. Over 85% of doctors in the U.S. participate in the BCBS Preferred Provider Network (PPO). With a minimal co-pay per visit, you have lower out-of-pocket expenses when you use our PPO plan. Your eligibility for TMC's health insurance plan begins following three months of continuous full-time employment.
- Single coverage is available for $29.53 per week
- Family coverage is available for $87.80 per week
All drivers receive complimentary life insurance equal to $20,000. Supplemental life insurance packages are also available at an additional cost. (Due to rapidly changing health care costs, these benefits and their premiums are subject to change without notice.)
Flexible Spending Account
TMC's flexible spending plan helps reduce your actual out-of-pocket health care and child day care costs. By paying these expenses with pre-tax earnings, you can reduce your taxable income, allowing you to keep more of your take home pay.
401(K) Retirement Plan
All TMC employee drivers are eligible to participate in the 401(K) plan after six months of employment. Money contributed by the driver is always fully vested and may be moved should you leave TMC. Your rights to any matching contributions made by TMC vest at 20% per year until you are fully vested after five years of employment.
